What do you do when your plant floor space is at capacity but you want to add more time saving and innovative equipment - Simple, you go up.
During December 2014, Pryors commissioned the install of a state of the art Kannegiesser Overhead Laundry Bagging conveyor system. Shutting business down to install this complex conveyor system was not an option, so Pryors managed the entire install over two months, with the first bags circulating overhead in February of this year.
“The quarter of a million dollar investment was worth every cent” said Pryors MD Brett Homan. “We had seen others in the Apparelmaster network make the commitment to use Overhead Laundry Bagging Systems, reaping the benefits immediately. And not to be outdone when it comes to the innovation stakes, we ordered one too” smiled Brett.
“The biggest benefit is the utilisation of previously underutilised ‘air’ space that in turn clears floor space from the clutter of bins and trollies”.
In simple terms the system transports clean garments from the big commercial washers directly to the garment hanging stations, which in turn feeds the wet to dry tunnel finisher. It transports clean and dry mats and towels from the dryers to the mat stacking area and towel folding machine.
There are smaller intangible benefits too that all add up in a business of this size. As an example, there is no need to have the disruption of staff trying to find a clean trolley. And staff can now pull the work instead of the work being pushed to them.
